What Is Meaningful Marketing? Meaningful for the End Customer

Be honest, you didn't become a marketer just to create something that buyers toss, ignore, or refuse, did you? Unfortunately, when many people think about marketing, their perception is largely negative. Maybe you experienced this at a party, where you had to explain to someone what you do for a living. "I'm in marketing", you probably said. "Oh, so you'll spam my emails and send creepy ads," they say. Despite your objections, in their minds you are now solely responsible for all the bad habits of our industry over the last century. What a buzzkill. For many, marketing is simply not a noble profession. Some think it's not real: dilbert band ( Source: Dilbert, 2010 ) Others make fun of our bad habits: marketing funnel marketroonist ( Source: Marketoonist, 2015 ) Despite the bad reputation the role received.
I always thought that marketing was both essential and inherently good. Our job is ultimately to facilitate transactions in which people buy things they perceive to be worth more than the money they are exchanging. By this definition, we are literally creating an economic good. (Talk about “adding value.”)It's time for Marketing as a phone number list whole (capital M, the Marketing industry) to change the perception of what we do into something more positive. At Engagio, this is our vision: to help create and implement a marketing medium that is not only good, but also meaningful . What is Meaningful Marketing? Marketing makes sense when it is: Meaningful for the end customer Meaningful for the marketer Meaningful for the end customer When marketing makes sense to the end customer, it improves that end customer's life in some way. It could be educational, fun, or helpful in some way.
More than anything else, it is relevant to who they are and what they need. We believe marketing is more valuable to the end customer when it's based on data and analytics combined with a deep understanding of what drives the buyer to act. Traders… want to make a real difference. The most meaningful marketing happens when it makes us feel good, when we make an impact and help improve the lives of others while doing it for ourselves. – Brian Carroll, founder of markempa.
