Він зазначив, що література Франка, і зокрема “Захар Беркут”, є прикладом світової літератури. І як будь-який приклад світової літератури він не тільки вічний, а й завжди актуальний.

Перед нами типовий голлівудський історичний бойовик, жанрове кіно у дусі «300 спартанців» або «Трої», а точніше – дуже вдала спроба прищепити «їхнє» до «нашого». Сюжет розгортається в 1241 році. Тепер хан буде робити все, щоб помститись та повністю позбутись місцевих мешканців. Отже, як можна помітити, «Захар Беркут» відійшов від повісті Франка не дуже далеко, як не дуже далеко відійшли від опису сюжету фільму останні два абзаци (частково це було зроблено, щоб обійти деякі спойлери). Також у фільмі взяло участь понад 250 акторів масових сцен, а також дві команди каскадерів – з України та Казахстану. Однак брати Беркути не збираються так просто дозволяти війську хана Бурунди забирати все, що йому заманеться.

Партнером та консультантом стрічки став Міжнародний Фонд Івана Франка. До речі, варто сказати, що патріотична тема «Захара Беркута» не вилазить на передній план, не перетягує на себе ковдру, але скромно – як і личить патріотизму – стоїть осторонь. Ми зможемо і надалі розвиватись та підвищувати якість наших матеріалів. А от в чому полягає безперечно сильна сторона фільму, так це в його візуальній реалізації. Події фільму «Захар Беркут» розгортаються в 1241 році, коли монгольська орда на чолі з ханом Бурундою прийшла в українські Карпати, все руйнуючи на своєму шляху. Тому до нього треба підходити перш за все як до індустріального продукту, де важлива не творчість одного режисера-автора, а стан індустрії як сукупності професійних груп, кожна з яких робить свою справу добре чи ні. Там є герої, які нагадують людей та є самі принципи погляду на них. А нам, думаю, не потрібно нічого пояснювати.

Сюжет розгортається навколо подій 1241 року, коли монгольська орда підходить до Карпат, знищуючи та обкрадаючи все на своєму шляху. Про це повідомляється на фейсбук-сторінці стрічки. Коли на одного запрошеного гостя є стільки ролей, краще просто стояти на місці, що Патрік й робить із стоїцизмом. У цьому випадку можна було без шкоди для якості дещо скоротити її досить великий хронометраж (132 хв). Сюжет розгортається в 1241 році.

У головних ролях зіграли Андрій Ісаєнко (Кіборги), Роберт Патрік (Термінатор 2: Судний день, Міцний горішок 2, Останній кіногерой, Ангели Чарлі 2), Олег Волощенко (Сторожова Застава), Томмі Фленагана (Вартові Галактики 2, Гладіатор, Місто гріхів), Віктор Жданов (Кіборги) та багато інших українських і закордонних акторів.
